Events & Campaigns

Our events and campaigns allow us to involve you and to raise funds to help improve our programs and services.

Events
Duck Pluck
One of our most popular fund raising events is the Duck Pluck.  This year the Duck Pluck will be held in conjunction with the Woodland Chamber of Commerce Annual Bar-b-que on June 2, 2005.  In this event donors adopt a duck for $100 each. A maximum of 500 ducks are up for adoption.  The day of the Duck Pluck all the ducks are placed in a pond and a winning duck is plucked. The lucky corresponding adoptive parent wins $10,000.

Star Light Star Bright
Star Light Star Bright is held in early December. For a contribution of $100 the Foundation will personalize and engrave a specially selected holiday ornament.  The culmination of this special event is the holiday tree lighting and reading of names ceremony in the lobby of Woodland Memorial Hospital.

Campaigns
Maternal/Child Unit Campaign
During the 2004-2005 fiscal year, the Foundation has pledged over $311,000 toward equipment upgrades for the Maternal/Child Unit at Woodland Healthcare.  Purchases will include eight new fetal monitors.  These new devices monitor both the mother in labor and the unborn child and allow for early intervention should a problem arise.  Two new resuscitation warmers are also being purchased.  A warmer is used during each birth, and there are more than 700 births at Woodland Healthcare each year.  The third component of this gift is an upgraded infant security system, providing the most state-of-the-art monitoring for infants and pediatric patients, offering that extra level of comfort for family members.  100% of fund raising efforts this year will benefit this project.  If you would like more information, please contact the Foundation.
